Other clubs and organizations

We are a group of wood carvers that get together to carve and learn from each other. Members of our group range from 19 years old to retired men and women with abilities ranging from beginner to world class carvers. We always welcome new members.

Here beginners and experienced carvers sit elbow to elbow learning and sharing skills. Carvers have access to an excellent, growing reference library which contains illustrated books, reference books, demonstration videos, study bills, patterns, and general reference materials. Senior carvers provide guidance and assistance to beginners. Formalized presentations on carving, texturing, painting and related topics are scheduled throughout the season. Shows/exhibitions, carving classes and excursions enhance our overall program.

The meetings are held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. with carving instruction beginning at 7:00 pm., at the Mannheim Community Centre in the village of Mannheim, just west of Kitchener. http:// (Grand Valley Wood Carvers)

Terry has a fair amount of different cutouts, out of different shapes in various stones. Contact him HERE if you are interested

Terry W Schaub has been creating his own distinctive style of sculpture for 28 years. His mediums have been diverse. Originally, starting out with clay, Terry explored the versatility and malleability of that medium. From there he moved on to try his hand at mold making and casting but found that the repeated replication, of a previously one of a kind piece, did not fulfill his need to create. This led him to the decision to concentrate his efforts on finding the medium that inspired him the most. Shortly thereafter he was introduced to working in stone. The permanence of it intrigued him. The variations in color and patterns captured him. He felt an even greater passion ignite and has sculpted in stone since that time. MORE
